Ab Half-Whole Diminished Scale

The Half-Whole Diminished Scale, or dominant diminished, alternates half and whole steps, starting with the half step. Its eight notes hold a dominant 7th chord plus the b9, #9 and #11, which makes it a favourite jazz sound over 7b9 chords. Like the Whole-Half Diminished Scale, its shape repeats every three frets.
