Ab Hirajoshi Scale

The Hirajoshi Scale is a five-note Japanese scale adapted from the tuning of the koto. Its two half steps, from the 2nd to the flat 3rd and from the 5th to the flat 6th, give it a haunting, minor sound. It fits minor chords, and rock players use it for an East Asian colour.
