B Jazz Minor Scale

The Jazz Minor Scale is the rising form of the Melodic Minor Scale, played the same way up and down. Jazz treats it as a parent scale, as the Major Scale is for the modes: its own modes include Lydian Dominant, Locrian Natural 2 and the Altered Scale, go-to sounds over dominant and half-diminished chords. On its own it fits a minor chord with a major 7th, the dark sound of a spy-film theme.
