Eb Altered Scale

The Altered Scale, or Super Locrian, is the seventh mode of the Jazz Minor Scale. Heard over a dominant 7th chord, it holds the chord's Root, 3rd (written here as a b4) and flat 7th, plus every altered tension: b9, #9, b5 and #5. Jazz players use it over a 7alt chord just before it resolves to the I chord, for the most tension before the release.
