E Minor Scale

The Minor Scale, or natural minor, is the darker counterpart of the Major Scale and the basis of every minor key. Its flat 3rd, 6th and 7th give the sad or serious sound heard across rock, metal and folk. It shares its seven notes with the Major Scale a minor 3rd above, its relative major. Raise its 7th and it becomes the Harmonic Minor Scale.
