Gb Locrian Scale

Locrian is the only mode of the major scale with a flat 5th, so its own Root chord is diminished and it never quite sounds resolved. It is the seventh mode, and rarely a home key. It is the right sound, though, over a minor 7th flat 5 (half-diminished) chord, such as the ii chord of a minor key, and some metal bands use its instability for dark riffs.
